A Light Among Us

Aaron

He comes with his whole heart.

Aaron is one of the remarkable people whom the war brought into our lives, and for that we are grateful every single day.

We first met him on October 7, when he joined the "Mikta'im" volunteer group and helped transport essential supplies to soldiers, food, clothing, personal equipment, and anything else that needed to reach the field quickly. Through this work we got to know him, and before long we found ourselves asking him to deliver more items to soldiers. His response was always the same:

"With pleasure, I'm already on my way."

From there, the path to a true partnership was a short one. When we began organizing refreshment and appreciation evenings for soldiers in the field, Aaron was there. At first, he helped transport our volunteer cooks and support teams, but very quickly he became an integral part of our family.

Together with several close friends, he took responsibility for managing the barbecue and meat station for the soldiers.

But anyone who knows Aaron understands that he never comes just to "do a job." He comes with his whole heart. Every week he arrives early, unloads supplies, organizes equipment, prepares the meat, takes care of the salads, pitas, and every small detail. Later, you can see him serving soldiers with a smile, chopping salads, tidying up, cleaning, and most importantly, creating a sense of home for people who are far away from their own.

Over time, a warm and personal friendship developed between us. Aaron is the kind of person you can always rely on, someone who never seeks recognition or the spotlight. He simply shows up to do good.

What makes his contribution even more inspiring is that beyond his work with the organization, he dedicates his time to helping people coping with post traumatic stress. He supports, accompanies, and cares for them with exceptional sensitivity, compassion, and kindness.

“There are people we meet along the way, and there are people who find a permanent place in our hearts. Aaron is unquestionably one of the latter.”
