A Whole Family of Light

One act of volunteering grew into an entire family devoted to bringing joy, generosity and light to Israel’s soldiers.

Some families simply find their way into your heart — and this is certainly one of them.

It all began with DJ and singer Harel Arbenel, who volunteered to play music and lift the spirits of soldiers at events organized by The Lights of Orit.

At every event, Harel keeps the celebration going. He opens the stage for the soldiers to sing karaoke, invites them to join in and enjoy themselves, and also gives young artists an opportunity to perform and bring joy alongside him.

From the very first event, his partner Dorit joined him — and since then they have become an inseparable part of everything we do.

Dorit brought along her sister Sigal, who lovingly prepares indulgent treats for the soldiers. Later, their younger sister Alona joined too, turning every event into a true surprise. Until the very last moment, we never know what she will make, so we named her station “The Surprise Station.”

A family united by giving

They show up wherever they are needed, at any hour and in any conditions — always with a smile, positive energy and a genuine desire to bring happiness, care and generosity from the heart.

And so, from one act of volunteering that began with Harel and Dorit, we were blessed with an entire family that volunteers, gives and brings joy time after time.

Harel, Dorit, Sigal and Alona — thank you for the heart, the time, the talent and the love you bring with you every single time.

This is exactly the spirit of The Lights of Orit.

One light kindles another. One person brings another. And one heart becomes an entire family of giving.
