Israel's Channel 12, in partnership with the national "Embracing Reservists" (Mechabkim Miluimnikim) campaign, has recognized The Lights of Orit for its work on behalf of IDF soldiers. The certificate — headlined "A business that supports fighters is before you!" — was presented to our founder and chairwoman, Orit Cohen Peleg.
The Embracing Reservists campaign was created to identify and thank the people and organizations across Israel who quietly carry the burden of caring for soldiers and their families. Recognition is given not for publicity, but for sustained, practical support — showing up week after week, wherever soldiers are stationed.
What the certificate says
“This certificate is awarded to Orit Cohen Peleg, of The Lights of Orit Association, for mobilizing on behalf of the soldiers of the IDF.”
The honor belongs to the hundreds of volunteers behind The lights of Orit: the mothers who cook through the night, the drivers who set out at every hour, the therapists who care for the soldiers wellbeing.
Why it matters
National recognition helps us reach further. It opens doors with partners and suppliers, reassures new donors that their gift lands where it is promised, and — most of all — tells the soldiers we serve that the country sees them. Every meal, every supply run and every evening of appreciation is made possible by people who give.
The recognition is a milestone, not a finish line. The need has not eased, and neither has the work. If this story moves you, the most direct way to be part of it is to give — every donation becomes a meal, a supply run, or a moment of dignity for someone serving.
